Lost and found commercials since the 1970s

Two weeks ago, KLM launched a viral video to promote their Lost and Found service. Here it is, ICYMI. But did you know that this is hardly a new concept? Here are three commercials from the 1970s and 1980s.

Two weeks ago, KLM launched a promotional video for their Lost and Found service and their new “employee”: a beagle named Sherlock. Here it is, in case you missed it. The video went viral and was picked up by most media, including CNN which later admitted it got “pulled in by golden ideas”.

Guess what came with my pizza tonight

Your pizza's utensils, compliments of Air Canada?

I called a new local restaurant to order delivery pizza with a side of poutine. The staff was friendly, the pizza was delicious. But, I got quite an unexpected surprise with my meal, in the form of a disposable utensils pack.

On April Fools 2011, Air France announced on Twitter they would start flying to Jupiter on Bastille Day…

Yet in 1969, just about the time of Apollo 11, one could call Pan Am, Air Canada, and other airlines, and get on the waiting list for an eventual scheduled flight to the Moon. And that was no joke.
