Every month, an airline printed advertisement, minus airline name and logo, is displayed for your guessing pleasure on Guess The Airline. The following is the answer to a previous game.
In this Guess The Airline, we had an advertisement published in a 1980 issue of Air Transport World. Although the Executive Class standards have evolved since then, the airline still exists. Could it have been TAP? United? Varig? VASP? Are you ready? Scroll down!
How to guess it?
There is nothing out of this world about this advertisement, except that the few people who tried out got a correct answer! For once, the advertised destination IS the country of origin of the airline: Brazil. Now, how many airlines in Brazil look large enough? Particularly with the tiny characters below the airline logo, mentioning that it is the “Largest privately owned airline outside the United States”? A little bit of research and… you realize that the gray blocks throughout the text are small enough to fit an airline name like Varig.
Welcome to the 21st Century: today, most mainline international companies, including Varig, offer this kind of service to their economy class passengers.
